I’m having fun right now, brainstorming and writing a new novel under my author name Lorna Faith.
The idea I had came to me about 10 years ago. It’s based on a main character who is 16 years old. She lives in one of 10 colonies that was established after the big war.
This story takes place about 100 years into the future. It’s a Dystopian YA novel.
I’ve never written a Young Adult novel before and the fact that it’s Dystopian SciFi, makes this even more interesting… lol;).
However, I feel something tugging at me to write this novel and the 3 book Trilogy.
The idea for this book came from these verses in 2 Peter 1:5-9. And I’ve been pondering how to make this into a novel series for about 9 years now.
Anyway, when I took Jerry B. Jenkins course early in 2025, he offered for all his students the opportunity to submit 10 pages of a manuscript to an award winning author that he recommends.
Next, I will submit the first 10 pages of this Dystopian YA Fiction book.
I’m excited to learn tips from an award winning author on how to write this story in a way that would captivate YA readers. ๐
